Sunday afternoon update_101010

The later computer model runs on Sunday morning are showing that 98L will continue WNW.  It could become a tropical depression at any time, as conditions remain very favorable that it will strengthen. Fig 1 shows the projected computer model tracks.

Today, at noon local time, it was centered about 420 miles SE of us.
Fig 2 - Noon position of 98L on 101010
Between 6am this morning and 12 noon today, the center of 98L moved 24 miles north and 24 miles east of  its 6am position. In other words, it is just drifting slowly north for the present time. It is still predicted to reach us late Monday or Tuesday.

If there is any significant change in intensity, forward speed or direction, I will post that later tonight.

A Hurricane Hunter aircraft is scheduled to investigate the system on Monday.

Have a great evening!
