10pm LT_ Update on TS Richard

In the 11pm EDT, NHC report there is virtually no change in Richard's track forecast. It is gradually becoming better organized. At 9pm LT, the center was located about 115 miles due east of Roatan and traveling WNW (285 degrees) at 7 mph.The minimum central pressure had dropped to 995 millibars. The maximum sustained winds are 70 mph.
There still is no real, clear, definitive, eye formation on satellite imagery. Eye formation and intensification both depend on land interaction and the dry air to the NW of the storm. There is good agreement between the models regarding both the intensity and track, so the NHC maximum wind estimate in this report is 70kts or 80mph.
Higher gusts are possible.

At this time Richard is still a tropical storm.

On this track and at its forward speed, the center of Richard will be passing over or slightly to the north of us in the early morning hours of Sunday.

I will try to continue posting through the night provided electricity and the internet are available
