For Saturday Oct. 16, 2010
Rain and cloudiness will persist today, as our warm southerly air continues to interact with the cooler northern air. There will be some periods of sunshine.
Winds will be northerly, ranging in strength from 10 to 15 mph. Waves will be 1 to 4 feet in height. Winds and seas may increase later today.
Paula has dissipated. A large disorganized area of showers and thunderstorms is SE of us off Nicaragua. It is associated with a weak trough of low pressure and is drifting northward. It has a 10% chance of developing into a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours. This system has the potential for further development and bears watching.

Elsewhere, no other tropical storm formation is expected in the next 24 hours.

The air temperatures will be in the high 70s (F) to the low 80s or 24 to 25 (C).

At depth, ocean water temperatures are about 82F to 85F or 27C to 29C. Surface temperatures are lower and vary greatly due to the heavy rainfall which occurred recently.
