Based
on the NHC Forecast Advisory at 5pm EDT, the approximate Closest
Point of Approach (CPA) is located near 18.1N, 85.9W or about 125.2
miles (201.4 km) from CoCoView. The estimated time of when the center
of the storm will be at that location is in about 20 hours from now
(Tuesday, August 7 at 7:00PM EDT).
The
Tropical Weather Outlook
TS
Ernesto is moving WNW (295º). Its
forward speed is 12 mph. At 8pm EDT, TS Ernesto was located at 16.5N,
82.1W or about 290 miles, E (87º) of
Roatan. Maximum sustained winds are 65 mph and the barometric
pressure is 995 mb.
This
system does pose a threat to the Bay Islands and North Coast of
Honduras, and all interests, especially those on the north side of
the islands, should monitor its progress. A tropical storm watch has
been issued for the Bay Islands and North Coast of Honduras.
