Again today, skies will be partly sunny. Winds will be easterly in direction at 12 mph to 15 mph during the day; increasing to 15 mph to 20 mph this afternoon and evening. Seas will be choppy at 2 to 4 feet. Divers should exercise caution exiting and entering the boats, especially on the afternoon dives. Expect winds and seas to moderate beginning on Wednesday. The cold front in the NW Gulf of Mexico will reach from the Florida Big Bend area to the Bay of Campeche, Mexico by late today...and from the Florida Big Bend area to the Yucatan Peninsula by Thursday. There is a very slight chance of scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms, especially during the early morning, late night hours as cool high pressure air drifts in from the north. The air temperatures will range from the high 70s (ºF) to the mid 80s (ºF) or 24ºC to 26ºC. Ocean water temperatures are 77°F to 79°F or 23ºC to 24ºC. Visibility is 20 to 80 ft.
The SAL (Saharan Air Layer) has changed in area and in density. See Figs. 9 and 9a below.
