Again today, skies will be sunny. Winds will be light and variable at 5 mph to 10 mph or less. Seas will be moderate to calm at 1 to 3 feet or less. A strong cold front will move across the western and central Gulf of Mexico today; followed by 25 kt. to 30 kt. NW winds. This front will extend from central Cuba to the Gulf of Honduras late Thursday and dissipate from the Windward Passage to the Gulf of Honduras on Thursday night and Friday.
A weak cold front will move into the NW Gulf of Mexico Friday night and extend from the Mississippi Delta to NE Mexico on Saturday. It will dissipate over the E central Gulf of Mexico on Sunday.
The air temperatures will range from the high 70s (ºF) to the mid 80s (ºF) or 24ºC to 26ºC.
Ocean water temperatures are 78°F to 79°F or 23ºC to 24ºC. Visibility is 20 to 80 ft.
The SAL (Saharan Air Layer) has changed in area and in density. See Figs. 9 and 9a below.
