Today, skies will be partly sunny. Winds will be light and variable in direction at 5 mph to 10 mph. Seas will be moderate at 1 to 3 feet or less.
A quasi-stationary cold front in the Gulf of Mexico reaches from Tampa Bay, Florida to near Vera Cruz, Mexico. It will move into the NW Caribbean by tonight. Than reach from central Cuba to the Gulf of Honduras by Friday night. It will dissipate from the Windward Passage to the Gulf of Honduras early on Sunday.
A new cold front will move into the western Gulf of Mexico Sunday and stall there on Monday.
There is a very slight chance of scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms, especially during the
early morning, late night hours as cool high pressure air drifts in from the north.
The air temperatures will range from the high 70s (ºF) to the mid 80s (ºF) or 24ºC to 26ºC.
Ocean water temperatures are 77°F to 79°F or 23ºC to 24ºC. Visibility is 20 to 80 ft.
The SAL (Saharan Air Layer) has changed in area and in density. See Figs. 9 and 9a below.
