Again today, skies will be sunny. Winds will be southerly in direction at 10 mph during the day; becoming WNW this afternoon and evening. Seas will be moderate to calm at 1 to 4 feet.
This morning, a strong cold front extends from the Mississippi Delta to the central Bay of Campeche, Mexico. It will reach from Tampa Bay, Florida to the Yucatan Channel this evening...moving E through the Straits of Florida late tonight into Tuesday. This front will move across the Yucatan Channel and the far Western Caribbean Monday evening...then stall and weaken from central Cuba to the eastern Gulf of Honduras on Tuesday. Remnants of the front will drift NW on Wednesday. Expect minimal gale force NW winds, increasing cloudiness and intermittent rain, in the wake of the front.
The normal easterly winds and seas will resume on Wednesday.
The air temperatures will range from the high 70s (ºF) to the mid 80s (ºF) or 24ºC to 26ºC.
Ocean water temperatures are 78°F to 79°F or 23ºC to 24ºC. Visibility is 20 to 80 ft.
The SAL (Saharan Air Layer) has changed in area and in density. See Figs. 16 and 17 below.
