Today, skies will be partly sunny. Winds will be ESE this morning at 10 mph or less; increasing to 15 mph to 25 mph from the ENE this afternoon and evening. Seas will be moderate to rough at 1 to 4 feet or higher.
A cold front extends from central Cuba to the Gulf of Honduras. It is stationary and dissipating.
There is a very slight chance of scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms, especially during the early morning, late night hours as cool high pressure air continues to move in from the north.
A new cold front will move into the western Gulf of Mexico Sunday and stall there on Monday. A stronger cold front will move across the western and central Gulf of Mexico on Wednesday; followed by fresh to strong NW flow.
The air temperatures will range from the high 70s (ºF) to the mid 80s (ºF) or 24ºC to 26ºC.
Ocean water temperatures are 77°F to 79°F or 23ºC to 24ºC. Visibility is 20 to 80 ft.
The SAL (Saharan Air Layer) has changed in area and in density. See Figs. 9 and 9a below.
