Tropical Storm Karl has crossed the Yucatan Peninsula and is strengthening in the Gulf of Mexico.
It continues to influence our weather.

For today, expect most sunny skies with high level cloudiness. The seas are presently calm. Waves later today will be 1' to 3' in height. Winds will remain light at 5 to 15 mph. They will be mostly from the ESE.  Scattered showers and thunderstorms are still possible. Expect wind and seas to be locally higher near squalls and thunderstorms.

Elsewhere in the tropics:

Hurricanes Igor and Julia remain in the open waters of the Eastern Tropical Atlantic Ocean. Neither system poses a threat to the Bay Islands.

The air temperatures will be in the mid to high 80s (F) or 27 - 29 (C).

Ocean water temperatures are about 85F to 87F or 29C to 30C.
