Skies will be mostly cloudy. There is a chance of scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms today. Winds will be moderate and easterly in direction at 5 mph to 15 mph or less. Seas will be moderate to calm at 1 to 3 ft. or less. The air temperatures will range from the high 70sºF to the mid to high 80s ºF or 26°C to 27ºC. Ocean water temperatures are 80°F to 82°F or 26ºC to 27ºC.

The Tropical Weather Outlook
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:1. Gulf of Mexico - A cold front extending from north Florida near 29N83W to 26N87W to 24N95W will stall across the central Gulf today through Sat...gradually dissipating Sun. High pressure will dominate the Gulf waters the remainder of the forecast period.
2. Caribbean Sea - Hurricane Matthew near 14.0N 69.9W 979 mb at 5 am EDT moving W at 12 kt. maximum sustained winds 80 kt gusts 105 kt. Matthew will move to 13.8N 71.2W Fri afternoon...to 13.7N 72.5W Fri night...to 13.9N 73.7W Sat afternoon...then to 14.5N 74.8W Sat night as it begins a turn to the NW and N... approaching E Cuba and the Windward Passage Mon evening...moving N of the area Tue. Matthew will continue to strengthen during the next few days as it moves west-northwest over the central Caribbean.
All interests in the Bay Islands and on the North Coast of Honduras should monitor this system closely as it tracks westward toward us. Currently this system does not pose a threat to the Bay Islands and north coast of Honduras. But all interests here should monitor this system as it moves west towards us.
3. ...Tropical Waves...
3a. A tropical wave is in the E Atlantic extending from 8N to 18N with axis near 28W, moving west at 10 kt over the past 24 hours. The wave is in a region of favorable deep layer wind shear and in a region of middle to upper level diffluence. However, both the TPW imagery and Meteosat enhanced imagery show Saharan dry air mainly W of the wave axis, which is limiting the convection to scattered showers from 14N to 16N between 25W and 30W.
3b. A tropical wave is in the central Atlantic extending from 7N to 17N with axis near 48W, moving west at 10-15 kt over the past 24 hours. The wave is in a region of unfavorable deep layer wind shear and Saharan dry air is mainly W of its axis, which is limiting convection to scattered showers from 10N-20N between 39W and 47W.
