The Tropical Weather Outlook
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:1. A tropical wave currently in the Yucatan Channel will pass W through the Bay of Campeche, Mexico tonight and Fri. A ridge will meander from the Florida Straits to NE Texas through Fri night. A weak cold front will move into the NE Gulf of Mexico waters on Sat morning and stall from Tampa Bay to the Mississippi Delta on Sat night and dissipate by Mon.
2. A tropical wave will move W through the Gulf of Honduras today accompanied by intense convection. Strong easterly trades will continue through Fri across the Caribbean between 68W and 79W with near gale force winds within 90 nm of the N coast of Colombia. The pressure gradient will relax some on Sat...then increase again on Sun with strong...locally near gale force...trades expected everywhere between 65-80W by early mon. A tropical wave will pass through the tropical Atlantic waters on Fri and Sat with the trades increasing to a fresh breeze between 12N and 17N on Sun and Mon.
3. A tropical wave located over Honduras, Nicaragua, and the adjacent waters of the northwestern Caribbean Sea is producing a broad area of cloudiness and disorganized thunderstorm activity. Development, if any, of this disturbance should be slow to occur due to interaction with land while the system moves west-northwestward around 10 mph toward the Bay of Campeche over the next few days.
