How to use this page:
The title of each of the figures below is linked to the page where the information originates.
Since I write and post early in the day and generally do not update the page until the next morning; by clicking on the link, it allows you, the viewer, to get the latest information.
This is not only convenient but allows you to track weather events such as cold fronts and hurricanes from a single web page.
In addition, in the right column is a very useful widget. It is a trip planner...yesteryear's weather at a glance. This widget lets you check historic weather for your trip dates.

Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014
Today, skies will be partly sunny. Winds will be light and variable in direction at 10 mph or less this morning. Increasing to 15 mph to 35 mph from the north, this afternoon and evening. Seas will be 1 to 3 feet on the south or lee side of the Bay Islands and considerably higher on the north side.
This morning, satellite imagery shows that the strong, approaching cold front reaches from the Yucatan Peninsula to eastern Cuba and out into the Atlantic Ocean. (See the figure at the bottom of the page.) It will continue to slowly move south today...then extend from central Cuba to NE Honduras by tonight...and from the Windward Passage to the border of Honduras and Nicaragua late on Thursday. There, it will become stationary and begin to dissipate on Friday and Saturday.
Another strong, reinforcing cold front has moved off the Texas Gulf coast this morning. Expect increasing cloudiness, rain and cool, strong, north winds with the passage of each of these fronts.
The air temperatures will range from the high 70s (ºF) to the mid 80s (ºF) or 24ºC to 26ºC.
Ocean water temperatures are 79°F to 80°F or 25ºC to 26ºC. Visibility is 5 to 80 ft.

The SAL (Saharan Air Layer) has increased in area and density. See Figs. 9 and 9a below.
