Today, skies will be mostly cloudy with heavy intermittent rain showers. Winds will be northerly in direction at 20 to 25 mph during the day increasing to 30 mph or higher this afternoon and evening. Seas will be choppy to rough at 2 to 4 feet or higher.
This morning, satellite imagery shows that a very strong cold front reaches from Roatan and the Bay Islands to central Cuba and out into the Atlantic Ocean. Gale force, northerly, winds are behind the front. This front will drift slightly SE in the next 24 hours but is now essentially stationary. Winds and seas will begin to diminish in strength on Thursday.
Divers should exercise caution exiting and entering the boats, especially on the afternoon dives.
With wind chill, it will feel like the mid 60s F, especially when exiting the water.
The air temperatures will range from the high 70s (ºF) to the mid 80s (ºF) or 24ºC to 26ºC.
Ocean water temperatures are 79°F to 82°F or 25ºC to 26ºC. Visibility is 20 to 80 ft.
The SAL (Saharan Air Layer) has changed in area and in density. See Figs. 9 and 9a below.
