How to use this page:
The title of each of the figures below is linked to the page where the information originates.
Since I write and post early in the day and generally do not update the page until the next morning; by clicking on the link, it allows you, the viewer, to get the latest information.
This is not only convenient but allows you to track weather events such as cold fronts and hurricanes from a single web page.
In addition, in the right column is a very useful widget. It is a trip planner...yesteryear's weather at a glance. This widget lets you check historic weather for your trip dates.

Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014
Today, skies will be mostly sunny. Winds will be mostly easterly in direction at 10 mph or less. Seas will be moderate at 1 to 3 feet.
This morning, a cold front extends from Tampa Bay, Florida to the western Bay of Campeche, Mexico. It has gale force winds behind it. It will continue to move slowly south across the Gulf of Mexico and weaken. This cold front is now forecast to dissipate in the southern Gulf of Mexico by late Thursday. It is possible that the front will drift farther south then is predicted before dissipating completely.
The next cold front approaches the Texas coast late Sunday. Marine interests in the Bay Island should monitor the progress of this front. (see Figs. 3a & 6).
The air temperatures will range from the low 70s (ºF) to the low 80s (ºF) or 24ºC to 26ºC.
Ocean water temperatures are 77°F to 79°F or 23ºC to 24ºC. Visibility is 20 to 80 ft or less.

The SAL (Saharan Air Layer) has changed in area and in density. See Figs. 9 and 9a below.
