Today, skies will be partly sunny. Winds will be mostly ESE in direction at 12 mph to 15 mph or higher during the day; increasing to 20 mph to 25 mph this afternoon and evening. Seas will be rough at 2 to 4 feet or higher. Divers should exercise caution exiting and entering the boats, especially on the afternoon dives.
A cold front has moved off the Texas coast. This front will move slowly across the Gulf of Mexico, reaching from southern Florida to the northern Yucatan by Thursday. Winds and seas will decrease beginning tomorrow. Cool, high pressure air will continue to drift in from the north increasing the chances of intermittent rain. This weak cold front will move through the NW Caribbean Thursday and Friday.
The air temperatures will range from the low 70s (ºF) to the low 80s (ºF) or 24ºC to 26ºC.
Ocean water temperatures are 77°F to 79°F or 23ºC to 24ºC. Visibility is 20 to 80 ft.
The SAL (Saharan Air Layer) has changed in area and in density. See Figs. 9 and 9a below.
