Wednesday, March 22, 2017 Skies will be  mostly sunny. Winds will be moderate and variable in direction at 5 mph to 15 mph or less. Seas will be  calm to moderate at 1 ft. to 4 ft or less. The air temperatures will range from the low 70sºF to the mid 80s ºF or 22°C to 24ºC. Ocean water temperatures are 79°F to 81°F or 26ºC to 27ºC.







The Tropical Weather Outlook
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
1. There are no tropical cyclones in the Atlantic at this time. The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1st through November 30th.
2. Gulf of Mexico - A thermal trough will develop over the Yucatan Peninsula each afternoon...move W across the Bay of Campeche, Mexico overnight and dissipate by late morning each day. A surface high will meander over the N central and NE Gulf waters today then shift N of the area on Thu. The pressure gradient will then tighten...supporting strong easterly winds across most of the Gulf from Thu night through Sat morning. A fresh to locally strong E breeze forecast along the N coasts of the Yucatan and Cuba late Sat.
3. Caribbean Sea - Strong nocturnal trade winds are forecast along the NW coast of Colombia through Fri. Strong NE pulses are expected across the NW and N central Caribbean from Thu evening through late Sat night. Large N swell forecast in NE Caribbean passages on Sat and Sun.
3a. An upper level trough passes through 32N74W in the western Atlantic Ocean, across the Bahamas and Cuba, to 18N81W in the NW corner of the Caribbean Sea. Upper level SW wind flow is to the east of the line that runs from the Windward Passage to NE coastal Nicaragua. Upper level cyclonic wind flow covers the Caribbean Sea to the west of the same Windward Passage-to-NE Nicaragua line. Rain showers are possible between 60W and 70W, from 17N to 23N between 67W and 76W around Hispaniola, and to the west of the line from the Windward Passage to the coast of Panama along 80W, in areas of scattered to broken low level clouds. The 24-hour rainfall total in inches for the period ending at 22/0000 UTC...according to the PAN AMERICAN TEMPERATURE AND PRECIPITATION TABLES...MIATPTPAN/SXCA01 KNHC...is 0.04 in Guadeloupe.
