Today,
skies
will be partly sunny. Seas
will be moderately choppy at 2 to 4 feet.
Winds will be mostly easterly in direction, this morning, at 10 mph
to 12 mph; increasing this afternoon to 15 mph to 20 mph.
The air temperatures will range from
the low 80s (ºF) to the low 90s (ºF) or 25ºC to 32ºC.
Ocean
water temperatures are 81°F
to 82ºF or 26ºC
to 27ºC. Visibility is generally 20 to 80 feet.
There
is a slight chance of scattered rain showers and isolated
thunderstorms.
Early this morning, tropical storm Chantal was about 1,100 miles due
E of Roatan. Its traveling W-NW at 29 mph, with maximum sustained
winds of 45 mph. It is weakening and may be degenerating into a
tropical wave as it tracks westward. Interests in the Bay Islands and
on the north coast of Honduras should continue to monitor this system
until is well north of us.
The Saharan Air Layer (SAL) has decreased in intensity during the
last 24 hours.
Else
where, tropical cyclone formation
is not expected during the next 48 hours.
