Regardless of strength, the easterly trade winds continue their daily pattern of decreasing in strength as the sun rises. During most of the day, they will blow from the E. Then around 2:30 to 3:00pm, in the afternoon, they begin to strengthen and shift to the NE. Wind strength peaks about midnight and then begins to decrease during the early morning hours. Discovery of this diurnal pattern is attributed to Columbus.

During the spring, summer, and early fall, the south side of Roatan is the windward side of the island.
To avoid injury, aboard the dive boats, divers should keep in mind the Old Mariners' adage of “ one hand for the ship, one hand for yourself”.

The air temperatures will range from the high 70s (F) to the mid to high 80s or 27 to 29 (C).
At depth, ocean water temperatures are about 81F or 27C . Visibility is generally 60 to 80 feet.
