Else where in the tropics, there is an area of low pressure located about 430 miles S of Bermuda. There is a 10% chance of this system developing into a tropical cyclone. It is slowly moving southwest. Conditions are not conducive for further development. Further development, if it occurs, will be very slow. This low pressure system currently poses no threat to the Bay Islands or North Coast of Honduras.
Historically, there has only been one named April storm in the Atlantic since 1851. The formation of a tropical disturbance this early in the year is unusual. The hurricane season in the Atlantic and Caribbean Seas is considered to be from June 1st to Dec 1st.
