Again, our skies will be mostly sunny with a possibility of scattered rain showers. A strong cold front across the middle of the Gulf of Mexico, is expected to reach the Yucatan Straits tomorrow. A second, strong cold front will enter the Gulf on Thursday. Look for increasing north winds. Today winds will be NE to E at 10 to 15 mph becoming NW to N later today. Waves will be 1 to 4 feet in height.
Tomas has weakened to a tropical depression. It is still expected to restrengthen in the next 48 hours. At 5am EDT, it was located about 750 miles E by S (1010) of Roatan. The maximum sustained winds were 35mph. Minimum central pressure has increased to1006 mb. It is moving WNW at 5 mph.
This morning’s 3 day forecast track still has it heading northwest, then north and finally northeast on Friday. It is still highly uncertain when, and where the storm will make this turn. All interests in the Bay Islands and on the North Coast of Honduras should continue to monitor Tomas’ track.

The air temperatures will be in the high 70s (F) to the low 80s or 24 to 25 (C).

At depth, ocean water temperatures are about 81F to 84F or 26C to 28C.
