The Tropical Weather Outlook
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
1. There are no tropical cyclones in the Atlantic at this time. The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1st through November 30th.
2. Gulf of Mexico - A weak cold front extends from Naples, Florida to 27N90W...while a front over the NW Gulf extends to a 1009 mb over southern Texas. The cold front will gradually dissipate today while the warm front lifts N of the area and the low pressure tracks E NE. A strong cold front extending from the low will push into the NW Gulf tonight...and quickly reach from western Florida Panhandle to the SW Gulf early Wed...from near Tampa, Florida to the northern Yucatan Peninsula Wed evening...then move SE of the area on Thu. Minimal gale force northerly winds will develop over a portion of the far SW Gulf on wed. High pressure will build over the area in the wake of the front with the high center shifting eastward from the NW Gulf to the NE Gulf by fri. The high will weaken through sat as a weak front moves across the NE Gulf.
3. Caribbean Sea - Winds and seas will diminish through the week over the Caribbean waters. A set of NW swell will propagate into the northern tropical N Atlantic on Wed...and propagate southeastward through the remainder of the tropical N Atlantic through Fri night while decaying. A cold front will move into the NW Caribbean Thu...then dissipate on Fri. A rather weak gradient becomes established over the area Thu through Sat.
3a. Broad middle level to upper level cyclonic wind flow covers the area that is from 80W eastward. The cyclonic wind flow is accompanying the deep layer trough that passes through the central Atlantic Ocean to the Mona Passage, and beyond. Comparatively drier air in subsidence is apparent in water vapor imagery across the area. Rainshowers are possible to the north of the line that extends from 17N60W to 16N70W to 13N83W at the coast of Nicaragua. 24-HOUR rainfall amounts, for the period ending at 14/0000 UTC... according to the PAN AMERICAN TEMPERATURE AND PRECIPITATION TABLES...MIATPTPAN/SXCA01 KNHC...are: 0.01 in Guadeloupe.
