Sunday,  July 10, 2016
Skies will be partly sunny. Winds will be easterly in direction at 5 mph to 25 mph or higher. Seas will be  moderate to rough  at 1 ft to 4 ft or higher.
The air temperatures will range from the high 70sºF to the mid to high 80s ºF or 26°C to 27ºC. Ocean water temperatures are 80°F to 82°F or 26ºC to 27ºC.

The Tropical Weather Outlook
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
1. Gulf of Mexico - A thermal trough will move NW off the Yucatan Peninsula each evening and dissipate over the SW Gulf waters by late each morning. Fresh to locally strong winds will be associated with this trough tonight and beginning again on Mon night. A surface high will meander over the E central Gulf waters through Sun...then shift northward to the NE Gulf on Mon through Thu...with a ridge extending NW to the Texas Coast through the period.
2. Caribbean Sea - The tight pressure gradient between an Atlc ridge and low pres over S America will maintain fresh to strong trades across the central Caribbean...except increasing to near gale force along the NW coast of Colombia mainly during the overnight hours. A tropical wave moving across the central Caribbean will reach the W Caribbean on Mon and Tue. A second tropical wave along 58W will move across the rest of tropical N Atlc waters overnight...then across the E Caribbean Sun through Mon night...across the central Caribbean Tue through Wed night...and over the W Caribbean Thu.
3. Tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 5 days.
4. Tropical Waves...
4a. A tropical wave is in the central Atlantic with axis near 31W, moving west at 15 knots within the last 24 hours. The wave is embedded in a mainly low moist environment from surface to 850 mb as indicated by CIRA LPW imagery. Meteosat imagery show Saharan dry air and dust in the wave environment that along with strong deep layer wind shear in the region limit the convection to scattered showers from 05N-08N between 29W and 34W.
4b. A tropical wave is in the west Atlantic with axis near 58W, moving west at 20 knots within the last 24 hours. The wave is embedded in a moderate moist environment from surface to 850 mb as indicated by CIRA LPW imagery. A diffluent environment aloft ahead of the wave supports scattered showers across the Windward Islands and adjacent waters.
4c. A tropical wave is in the central Caribbean with axis near 73W, moving west at 15 knots within the last 24 hours. CIRA LPW imagery show the wave is embedded in shallow moisture whereas water vapor imagery show strong subsidence aloft. Passing showers are possible for Hispaniola and adjacent waters tonight.
