For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
1. A weak cold front nearing the northern Gulf of Mexico coast will stall today...then dissipate on Thu. A stronger cold front will approach the Gulf on Sat...then push into the northern Gulf waters on Sun. Surface troughing over the Yucatan Peninsula will cause winds over the SW Gulf to become fresh to strong Thu through Fri.
2. High pressure N of the area will maintain fresh to strong trade winds primarily over the Gulf of Honduras and the central Caribbean through Sat night. Otherwise...moderate to fresh trade winds are generally expected through Sat night. By Sun...winds and seas are forecast to diminish across the basin as a broad area of low pressure develops N of the area.
