The Tropical Weather Outlook
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

2. Gulf of Mexico - A thermal trough will develop over the Yucatan Peninsula each afternoon...move W across the Bay of Campeche, Mexico overnight and dissipate by late morning each day. High pressure ridge extending SW over the Gulf from the Atlantic will maintain a tight pressure gradient...supporting strong E to SE winds across most of the Gulf Thu night through Sat morning. A fresh to locally strong E breeze is expected along the N coasts of the Yucatan and Cuba late Sat.
3. Caribbean Sea - Strong nocturnal trade winds will continue along the NW coast of Colombia through Fri evening. Strong NE winds will prevail across the NW and N central Caribbean Thu evening through late Sat night as strong high pressure shifts SE into the W Atlantic. Moderate N-NW swell will dominate seas across tropical N Atlantic waters and NE Caribbean passages through Thu...and again Sat through Sun.
3a. An upper level trough passes through 32N74W in the western Atlantic Ocean, across the Bahamas and Cuba, to 18N82W in the NW corner of the Caribbean Sea. Upper level SW wind flow is to the east of the line that runs from the Windward Passage to NE coastal Nicaragua. Upper level cyclonic wind flow covers the Caribbean Sea to the west of the same Windward Passage-to-NE Nicaragua line. Rainshowers are possible to the N, NE, and E of the line that runs from 16N70W 15N64W 11N65W, and then to the N, NW, and W of the line that runs from 17N70W to 14N76W to 09N80W.
