Skies will be partly sunny. Winds will
be ESE in direction at 10 mph to 12 mph or higher during the day;
becoming E to ENE this afternoon and evening at 15 mph to 25 mph.
Seas
will be choppy to rough at 2 to 4 feet. Expect strong easterly
tradewinds and high seas through Tuesday.
Divers should exercise caution
exiting and entering the boats, especially on the afternoon dives.
Remnants of a cold front/trough remain
north of us, from the Yucatan across Cuba out into the Atlantic
Ocean. It will continue to drift NW through Saturday. There is a
slight chance of scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms,
especially during the early morning, late night hours.
An unseasonably strong cold front will
move slowly into the NW Gulf of Mexico on Monday. Strong north winds
will be behind this front. It will reach the Yucatan Peninsula by
Wednesday. (See Figs. 2 & 3).
The air temperatures will range from
the high 70s (ºF) to the mid 80s (ºF) or 24ºC to 26ºC.
Ocean water temperatures are 80°F to
82°F or 24ºC to 25ºC. Visibility is 20 to 80 ft.
The SAL (Saharan Air Layer) has changed in area and in density. See Figs. 16 and 17 below.
