Monday August 06, 2012
Initially today, skies will be partly sunny, with mid to high level clouds. Seas will be calm to choppy at 1 to 4 feet. Winds will range in strength from gentle to moderate. They will be from the NW to WNW at 5 to 15 mph. There is a chance of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms. Literally, this is the calm before the storm.
These conditions will deteriorate during the day as TS Ernesto gets closer to us. Based on the NHC Forecast Advisory at 5am EDT, the center of Ernesto will pass about 60 miles to the north of CoCoView around 05:30 am tomorrow Tuesday, August 06, 2012.

The Tropical Weather Outlook
TS Ernesto continues to move westward (275º). Its forward speed has slowed to 12 mph. At 5am EDT, TS Ernesto was located at 15.1N, 80.5W or about 410 miles, E by S (102º) of Roatan. Maximum sustained winds are 50 mph and the barometric pressure is 1003 mb. Based on current satellite imagery, it appears to be getting better organized and intensifying.
This system does pose a threat to the Bay Islands and North Coast of Honduras, and all interests, especially those on the north side of the islands, should monitor its progress. A tropical storm watch has been issued for the Bay Islands and North Coast of Honduras.
Elsewhere, TD Florence is at 16.2N, 38.8W. It is not a threat to us.
