The
Tropical Weather Outlook
TS
Ernesto has slowed and continues to move westward (275º)
at 18 mph. At 5am EDT, TS Ernesto was located at 14.1N, 67.2W or
about 1300 miles, E by S (100º) of
Roatan. Maximum sustained winds are 60 mph and the barometric
pressure is 1001 mb. Ernesto is strengthening and getting better
organized. If it maintains its current path and direction, its
center, should pass to the north of us, on Tuesday or Wednesday,
possibly as a Category 1 hurricane. However, there is large spread in
the models with regard to latitude, beginning on Monday and the NHC
has adjusted the official 5 day track forecast slightly south from
yesterday's.
This
system does not currently pose a threat to the Bay Islands and North
Coast of Honduras, but all interests, especially those on the north
side of the islands, should monitor its progress.
Elsewhere,
TS Florence has formed out in the Atlantic at 14.2N, 29.1W. It is not
a threat to us.
