Skies will be partly sunny, with mid to high level clouds. Seas will be choppy to rough at 2 to 4 feet. Winds will range in strength from a moderate breeze during the day to a strong breeze this evening. They will be ESE to ENE at 10 to 30 mph. Divers should exercise caution exiting and entering the boats, especially on the afternoon dives. There is a very slight chance of scattered showers later today.
The air temperatures will range from the low 80s (ºF) to the low 90s (ºF) or 26ºC to 32ºC.
Ocean water temperatures are 82 to 83ºF or 26 to 27ºC. Visibility is generally 20 to 80 feet.
The Tropical Weather Outlook
Invest 94L, is now Tropical Depression 9. At 5 am EDT, it was located near 15.2N 51.2W moving W at 17kt. Maximum sustained winds 30 kt., with gusts to 40 kt. Minimum pressure was 1007 mb. TD9 is forecast to strengthen to a tropical storm this afternoon and reach hurricane strength by Wednesday. This morning, it was about 2300 miles E of Roatan. The approximate Closest Point of Approach (CPA) is located near 20.0N, 77.3W or about 650.8 miles (1047.3 km) NE from Roatan. This corresponds to the 120 hour position of the 5-day forecast (Sunday, August 26 at 5:00AM AST).
Invest 96L, is about 3900 miles E by South of Roatan at 10.1N, 28.6W. It is traveling W at 15 mph. Maximum sustained winds are 25 mph and bp is 1010 mb. The NHC now gives this system a 60% chance of becoming a tropical depression in the next 48 hours.
All interests in the Bay Islands and on the North Coast of Honduras should monitor these systems as they track west towards us and strengthen.
