92L, is still a 1006 millibar, low pressure system. There is a 40% chance of it developing into a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours. It continues to move WNW at 10 to 15 mph. Early this morning, it was centered about 350 miles, north of east of the Bay Islands. Upper level dry air continues to impede the development of 92L. This feature will continue to dominate our weather for the next couple of days. It is predicted to pass to the north of us and make land fall on the Mexican, Yucatan peninsula Wednesday.
All interests in the Bay Islands, especially those on the northside of the islands, should continue to closely monitor this system as it moves westward over us.
Elsewhere in the tropics:
Hurricanes Igor and Julia remain in the open waters of the Eastern Tropical Atlantic Ocean. Neither system poses a threat to the Bay Islands.
The air temperatures will be in the mid to high 80s (F) or 27 - 29 (C). Ocean water temperatures are about 85F to 87F or 29C to 30C.
