There is a low probability that another coral spawn will occur
for the next four (4) nights, Mon., Sept. 27 thru Thur.,Sept. 30, 2010.
Coral spawning was observed here in August during a similar time frame. Brittle stars, sea cucumbers and sponges were also observed spawning on nights when the coral spawned.
A coral spawn has been predicted for Bonaire for this month.
To the best of my knowledge spawning events have not been observed and reported for the month of September in the Bay Islands.
The most likely times for it to occur are between 8pm and Midnight, when the tide has peaked and is beginning to go out.
See the tide times on the daily weather reports.
Please try to note the depth, water temperature and species, if you observe any spawning behavior.
I would appreciate receiving any photos or observations made.
Thank you,
Doc Radawski
