at
16.3°N Latitude x 86.5°W Longitude
in the
NW Caribbean Sea

For Saturday, Sept 25 2010
 
At 6am LT, Matthew was centered at 15.8N x 87.3.W or about 67 miles
SSW of Roatan. (See Fig 1 below). Maximum sustained winds are 45mph, with 
higher gusts. Present movement is WNW or 285 degrees at 15mph.Minimum 
central pressure is 998 millibars or 29.47inches of mercury. Today, skies will 
be cloudy with bands of heavy rain. (See Fig 2 below)
Wind and seas will decrease later today, as TS Matthew moves off 
to the WNW. 
 
Matthew will move into the Gulf of Honduras this morning. 
Then on to land in Belize. A slight strengthening is possible.
Tropical storm force winds extend outward 175 miles, mainly to
the north of the center. Seas to 12 feet or greater.
 
All residents of the Bay Islands, especially those living on 
the north side of the islands, should continue to monitor 
Matthew's progress closely.
 
It most likely will disrupt air travel over the weekend.

The air temperatures will be in the mid to high 80s (F) or 27 - 29 (C).

Ocean water temperatures are about 85F to 87F or 29C to 30C.

A new,1010 millibar,low pressure area will form over the NW Caribbean
late Tues. or Wed. with strong winds west of 75W.
