The Tropical Weather Outlook
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:1. Gulf of Mexico - A persistent NE to SW trough is drifting slowly W across the NW Gulf and expected to move inland today over Texas and NE Mexico as high pressure ridging builds in from the NE. Fairly tranquil marine conditions will persist through the week...with winds increasing slightly in the central and W Gulf Fri through Sun as the pressure gradient tightens. An early season cold front will approach the Texas coast late Mon.
2. Caribbean Sea - Upcoming weekend as tropical cyclone Karl moves NW then N across the SW N Atlantic. Easterly swell associated with tropical cyclone Karl will impact the Atlantic waters and Caribbean passages through Fri. Active weather will prevail today across W and SW portions due to an upper level trough.
