Skies will be mostly cloudy. There is a chance of scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms today. Winds will be moderate and easterly in direction at 5 mph to 15 mph or less. Seas will be  moderate to calm at 1 to 3 ft. or less. The air temperatures will range from the high 70sºF to the mid to high 80s ºF or 26°C to 27ºC. Ocean water temperatures are 80°F to 82°F or 26ºC to 27ºC.



The Tropical Weather Outlook
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:1. Gulf of Mexico - A cold front extending from north Florida near 29N83W to 26N87W to 24N95W will stall across the central Gulf today through Sat...gradually dissipating Sun. High pressure will dominate the Gulf waters the remainder of the forecast period.
2. Caribbean Sea - Hurricane Matthew near 14.0N 69.9W 979 mb at 5 am EDT moving W at 12 kt. maximum sustained winds 80 kt gusts 105 kt. Matthew will move to 13.8N 71.2W Fri afternoon...to 13.7N 72.5W Fri night...to 13.9N 73.7W Sat afternoon...then to 14.5N 74.8W Sat night as it begins a turn to the NW and N... approaching E Cuba and the Windward Passage Mon evening...moving N of the area Tue. Matthew will continue to strengthen during the next few days as it moves west-northwest over the central Caribbean.
All interests in the Bay Islands and on the North Coast of Honduras should monitor this system closely as it tracks westward toward us. Currently this system does not pose a threat to the Bay Islands and north coast of Honduras. But all interests here should monitor this system as it moves west towards us.
3. ...Tropical Waves...
3a. A tropical wave is in the E Atlantic extending from 8N to 18N with axis near 28W, moving west at 10 kt over the past 24 hours. The wave is in a region of favorable deep layer wind shear and in a region of middle to upper level diffluence. However, both the TPW imagery and Meteosat enhanced imagery show Saharan dry air mainly W of the wave axis, which is limiting the convection to scattered showers from 14N to 16N between 25W and 30W.
3b. A tropical wave is in the central Atlantic extending from 7N to 17N with axis near 48W, moving west at 10-15 kt over the past 24 hours. The wave is in a region of unfavorable deep layer wind shear and Saharan dry air is mainly W of its axis, which is limiting convection to scattered showers from 10N-20N between 39W and 47W.

Skies will be mostly cloudy. There is a very slight chance of scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms, especially during the early morning, late night hours. Winds will be moderate and easterly in direction at 5 mph to 20 mph or less. Seas will be  moderate to calm at 1 to 3 ft. or higher. The air temperatures will range from the high 70sºF to the mid to high 80s ºF or 26°C to 27ºC. Ocean water temperatures are 80°F to 82°F or 26ºC to 27ºC.





The Tropical Weather Outlook
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:1. Gulf of Mexico - A weakening cold front over the northern Gulf will drift SE today while a reinforcing cold front enters the NW Gulf this afternoon...merging with the weak front tonight. The front will then reach the central waters Friday before stalling out over this area Sat...dissipating late in the weekend or early next week.
2. Caribbean Sea - Tropical Storm Matthew near 14.0N 64.7W 1002 MB at 5 am EDT moving W at 14 kt. maximum sustained winds 55 kt gusts 65 kt. Matthew will move to 14.1N 69.2W early Fri while strengthening to a hurricane...13.8N 72.2W early Sat...then 14.5N 74.0W early Sun as it begins a turn to the NW and N...approaching E Cuba and the Windward Passage Mon.
3. ...Special Features...
3a.Tropical Storm Matthew at 29/1200 UTC is centered near 14.1N 65.5W or about 260 NM S of San Juan Puerto Rico and about 230 nm ENE of Curacao moving west at 14 KT. Maximum sustained winds are 60 KT with gusts to 75 KT. Estimated minimum central pressure is 995 mb. Numerous heavy showers associated with it are happening from 12N to 16N between 60W and 65W. Scattered moderate convection is elsewhere from 11N to 18N between 59W and 65W. Matthew is forecast to become a hurricane tonight or early Friday morning. All interests in the Bay Islands and on the North Coast of Honduras should monitor this system closely as it tracks westward toward us. Currently this system does not pose a threat to the Bay Islands and north coast of Honduras. But all interests here should monitor this system as it moves west towards us.
4...Tropical Waves...
4a. A tropical wave is in the E Atlantic extending from 07N to 17N with axis near 24W, moving at 15 kt over the past 24 hours according to satellite and global model guidance. This wave is newly introduced based on global tropical waves diagnostic guidance and latest passes of scatterometer data. Abundant moderate to high low level moisture and a diffluent wind environment at the middle and upper levels support numerous moderate to isolated strong convection from 12N to 16N between 21W and 27W. Scattered moderate convection is elsewhere from 10N to 17N E of 29W.
4b. A tropical wave is in the Central Atlantic extending from 08N to 16N with axis near 33W moving W at 15 kt over the past 24 hours. This is a low amplitude wave in a region of unfavorable deep layer wind shear. CIRA LPW imagery and Meteosat enhanced imagery show dry air in the northern wave environment that along dust support lack of convection at the time. Scattered showers are from 09N to 12N between the wave axis and 39W.
4c. A tropical wave is in the Central Atlc extending from 05N to 14N with axis near 45W expected to move at 15 kt over the next 24 hours. Unfavorable deep layer wind shear is in the northern wave environment supporting lack of convection N of 12N. CIRA LPW imagery show a moderate moist environment elsewhere with pockets of dry air mainly W the wave axis where isolated showers are observed to 50W. Scattered moderate to isolated strong showers are from 08N to 12N between 38W and 44W.
4d. A tropical wave is in the W Caribbean extending from 09N to 20N with axis near 86W moving W at 15 KT over the past 24 hours. The wave is in a region of abundant low level moisture and favorable deep layer wind shear that support isolated heavy showers and tstms S of 20N between 81W and 87W.

The Tropical Weather Outlook
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:1. Gulf of Mexico - A stationary front just offshore of Texas and Mexico will dissipate through this morning. Weak high pres in the E Gulf will prevail through Thu. A new cold front will push into the northern Gulf late Thu...becoming stationary from central Florida to the SW Gulf Fri...and dissipating through Sat.
2. Caribbean Sea - A weak tropical wave along 79W will cross the W Caribbean through Fri. A strong tropical low centered near 13N57W has a high chance of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours. Gale force winds are expected to continue N of the low center...prior to the low becoming a tropical cyclone. Further intensification is possible through the remainder of the week and upcoming weekend in the eastern and central Caribbean.
3. ...Special Features...
3a. An Atlantic Ocean tropical wave is along 57W from 19N southward. A 1007 mb low pressure center is along the wave near 13N, about 150 nm to the east of Barbados. Convective precipitation: scattered to numerous strong from 12N to 15N between 55W and 59W, and from 11N to 13N between 60W and 63W. Isolated moderate elsewhere from 10N to 20N between 50W and 63W. The precipitation pattern continues to show signs of organization. It is likely that a tropical depression or a tropical storm may form later today if this weather system continues to become more organized. The system is moving westward to west-northwestward 15 to 20 mph, and it is expected to pass over the Windward Islands later today, and then move across the southeastern Caribbean Sea tonight and Thursday. An Air Force Reserve reconnaissance aircraft is scheduled to investigate the system again later this morning.  The chance of formation during the next 48 hours is high. Heavy rains and tropical-storm-force winds in squalls are expected to spread over the Windward Islands and sections of the southern Leeward Islands, beginning this morning, and continuing through tonight and early Thursday. All interests in the Bay Islands and on the North Coast of Honduras should monitor this system closely as it tracks westward toward us. Currently this system does not pose a threat to the Bay Islands and north coast of Honduras. But all interests here should monitor this system as it moves west towards us.

4a. An Atlantic Ocean tropical wave is along 26W/27W from 17N southward, moving westward 10 to 15 knots. Convective precipitation: widely scattered moderate to isolated strong from 07N to 10N between 24W and 30W. It is possible that the precipitation may be more related to the monsoon trough.

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:1. Gulf of Mexico - A trough with active convection S of 27N in the western Gulf will drift west and weaken through Wed night. A cold front pushing into the northern Gulf Thu will become stationary from central Florida to the SW Gulf Fri...then dissipate through Sat.
2. Caribbean Sea - A weak tropical wave along 72W will move across the W Caribbean through Fri. A strong tropical low centered near 12N52W is expected to become a tropical cyclone later today east of the Windward Islands. Gale force winds are expected north of the low center as it crosses the Lesser Antilles. Further intensification is expected in the eastern and central Caribbean Wed through Sat. Currently this system does not pose a threat to the Bay Islands and north coast of Honduras. But all interests here should monitor this system as it moves west towards us.
3. ...Special Features...
3a. An Atlantic Ocean tropical wave is along 51W from 17N southward. A 1008 mb low pressure center is along the wave near 11N. Convective precipitation: widely scattered moderate to isolated strong from 11N to 17N between 48W and 55W. The precipitation pattern continues to become more organized. It is likely that a tropical depression or a tropical storm may form later today if this weather system continues to become more organized. The forecast movement is to the WNW-to-W about 20 mph. Please monitor the progress of this weather system if you have any interests that are in the eastern and central Caribbean Sea, including the northern coast of South America. Heavy rains and strong gusty winds, possibly to tropical storm force, are expected to spread across the Windward Islands and sections of the southern Lesser Antilles beginning tonight and continuing into Wednesday. An Air Force Reserve reconnaissance aircraft is scheduled to investigate the disturbance this afternoon. The chance of formation during the next 48 hours is high. Gale wind conditions are forecast in 24 hours, within 120 NM N semicircle of a 1006 mb low pressure center near 13N57W, and sea heights are forecast to range from 10 feet to 13 feet. All interests in the Bay Islands and on the North Coast of Honduras should monitor this system closely as it tracks westward toward us. Currently this system does not pose a threat to the Bay Islands and north coast of Honduras. But all interests here should monitor this system as it moves west towards us.
4. ...Tropical Waves...
4a. An Atlantic Ocean tropical wave is along 21W/22W from 16N southward, moving westward 10 to 15 knots. Convective precipitation: Monsoon trough precipitation, isolated moderate to locally strong, is from 10N southward between 10W and 30W. A Caribbean Sea tropical wave is to the south of 19N, passing through the Mona Passage to 14N69W, and to 09N69W in NW Venezuela. Convective precipitation: isolated moderate from 10N to 20N between 60W and 70W. An upper level trough extends from an Atlantic Ocean 25N69W cyclonic circulation center, to Puerto Rico, into the Caribbean Sea, and toward Lake Maracaibo in NW Venezuela. Convective precipitation: isolated moderate from 20N southward between 60W and 70W. It is not easy to figure out which precipitation just is related to the tropical wave, and which precipitation is related only to the upper level trough.
All interests in the Bay Islands and on the North Coast of Honduras should monitor this system closely as it tracks westward toward us. Currently this system does not pose a threat to the Bay Islands and north coast of Honduras. But all interests here should monitor this system as it moves west towards us.

A weak cold front will reach the NW Gulf Mon night...then stall and dissipate in the northern Gulf through Tue night. Another cold front will approach the NW Gulf on Thursday.
2. Caribbean Sea - High pressure over the W Atlantic will support moderate to fresh trades in the S central Caribbean and gentle to moderate trades elsewhere through Tue. A weak tropical wave along 63W will cross the E Caribbean through Tue. A strong tropical wave and low pressure near 44W will cross 55W Tue and move across the Windward Islands into the E Caribbean Wed night. A tropical cyclone may develop from this system in the W-central Atlantic before reaching the Lesser Antilles. All interests in the Bay Islands and on the North Coast of Honduras should monitor this system closely as it tracks westward toward us. Currently this system does not pose a threat to the Bay Islands and north coast of Honduras. But all interests here should monitor this system as it moves west towards us.

3a. An Atlantic Ocean tropical wave is along 42W/43W from 17N southward, moving westward 15 to 20 knots. A 1010 mb low pressure center is near 09N along the tropical wave. Convective precipitation: scattered strong from 09N to 13N between 42W and 50W. The chance of development into a tropical cyclone for this feature is medium.
4. ...Tropical Waves...
4a. An Atlantic Ocean tropical wave is along 18W/19W from 19N southward, moving westward 10 to 15 knots. Convective precipitation: widely scattered moderate to isolated strong from 04N to 12N between 08W and 20W.
4b. An eastern Caribbean Sea tropical wave is along 61W/63W from 22N southward, moving westward 10 to 15 knots. This wave is moving through the area of an upper level trough and its related cyclonic wind flow. Convective precipitation: isolated moderate from 12N to 20N between 54W and 65W. Isolated moderate from 12N southward between 60W and 70W.

A weak cold front will reach the NW Gulf Mon night...then stall and dissipate in the northern Gulf through Tue night. Seas will remain 3 ft or less across most of the basin through Thu.
2. Caribbean Sea - High pressure building over the western Atlantic will support moderate to fresh trades in the S central Caribbean and gentle to moderate trades elsewhere through Mon night. A tropical wave along 59W will cross the Lesser Antilles today. A tropical wave and low pressure near 39W will cross 55W Tue and move across the Windward Islands into the E Caribbean Wed. A tropical cyclone may develop from this system in the west-central Atlantic before reaching the Lesser Antilles.
3. ...Special Features...
3a. Tropical Storm Karl is centered near 37.5N 53.5W at 25/0900 UTC or about 552 nm south of Cape Race Newfoundland, moving northeast at 40 kt. Estimated minimum central pressure is 990 mb. Maximum sustained wind speed is 60 kt with gusts to 75 kt. Scattered to numerous strong convection prevails north of 36N between 48W-55W.
4. ...Tropical Waves...
4a. A tropical wave in the east Tropical Atlantic extends its axis from 14N34W to a 1011 mb surface low centered near 07N35W, moving west near 20 kt over the past 24 hours. This wave coincides with a 700 mb trough noted in model guidance and is embedded within a surge of moisture as seen in TPW imagery. Scattered moderate convection has developed in the vicinity of these features extending from 06N-14N between 35W-42W.
4b. A tropical wave in the west-central Tropical Atlantic extends its axis from 22N57W to 12N58W, moving west near 15 kt over the past 24 hours. The wave coincides with a 700 mb trough depicted in model guidance and is embedded within an surge of moderate moisture as seen in TPW imagery. Isolated moderate convection prevails along the southern portion of the wave's axis south of 14N between 57W-60W.
4c. A tropical wave extends from the southern portion of Mexico into the EPAC waters from 19N96W to 08N96W. This wave has moved west at about 5-10 kt over the past 24 hours. A 700 mb trough is depicted by global guidance near this area and abundant moisture is noted in TPW imagery. Scattered moderate convection prevails in the wave's environment mainly between 93W-102W affecting the southern portion of the Bay of Campeche mainly south of 20N between 93W-97W.

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
1. Gulf of Mexico - A high pressure ridge will prevail across the central and northern Gulf through Sat. A trough will move westward off the Yucatan peninsula into the SW Gulf each evening before dissipating each morning. A tropical wave will move across the SW Gulf Mon night and Tue.
2. Caribbean Sea - Ridging over the western Atlc will support fresh to strong trades over the majority of the central Caribbean through Sat. Winds will reach minimal gale force in the S central Caribbean this morning and again early Tue morning. A tropical wave with axis along 80W will move across the nw Caribbean and Central America Mon. A second tropical wave will cross the Leeward Islands tonight and move across the eastern Caribbean Tue.
3. Tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 5 days.
4. Tropical Waves...
4a. An Atlantic Ocean tropical wave is along 29W/30W, from 17N southward, moving westward 10 to 15 Knots. Convective precipitation: rainshowers are possible from 07N to 15N between 26W and 30W.
4b. An Atlantic Ocean tropical wave is along 52W/53W, from 18N southward, moving westward 10 to 15 KNOTS. A 1015 MB low pressure center is along the tropical wave near 14N. Convective precipitation: isolated moderate from 14N southward between 50W and 54W.
4c. A Caribbean Sea tropical wave is along 81W/82W from 20N southward moving westward 10 to 15 Knots. The monsoon trough is along 10N in Costa Rica. Convective precipitation: scattered strong from 11N to 13N between 82W and 84W. rainshowers are possible elsewhere from 12N from 74W.

Skies will be mostly cloudy. There is a very slight chance of scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms, especially during the early morning, late night hours. Winds will be moderate and easterly in direction at 10 mph to 25 mph or less. Seas will be  moderate to calm at 2 to 4 ft. or higher. The air temperatures will range from the high 70sºF to the mid to high 80s ºF or 26°C to 27ºC. Ocean water temperatures are 80°F to 82°F or 26ºC to 27ºC.




The Tropical Weather Outlook
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:1. Gulf of Mexico - Weak high pressure will prevail over the N central Gulf this weekend. An early season cold front will approach the NW Gulf early next week.
2. Caribbean Sea - High pressure will rebuild SW of Karl over the SW N Atlantic this weekend as Karl accelerates away from the region...resulting in an increase in trades over the central Caribbean. NE to E swell associated with Karl will impact the Atlantic waters and Caribbean passages through today. A strong tropical wave may bring increasing winds and seas to Atlanticc waters by Tue.
3. ...Special Features...
3a. Tropical Storm Karl is centered near 28.1N 64.8W at 23/1200 UTC or about 250 nm S of Bermuda moving NNW at 8 kt. Estimated minimum central pressure is 992 mb. Maximum sustained wind speed is 50 kt with gusts to 60 kt. Scattered moderate and isolated strong convection is from 27N-32N between 59W-67W.
3b. Tropical Storm Lisa is centered near 21.8N 35.7W at 23/0900 UTC or about 745 nm WNW of the Cape Verde Islands and about 1070 nm SSW of the Azores moving NW at 8 kt. Estimated minimum central pressure is 1008 mb. Maximum sustained wind speed is 35 kt with gusts to 45 kt. Scattered moderate convection is from 22N-26N between 29W-36W.
4 ...Tropical Waves...
4a. Tropical wave extends from 10N91W to 19N90W moving W at 15 kt. The wave remains within broad 700 mb troughing over portions of Central America between 88W-94W. Scattered moderate and isolated strong convection is from 12N-17N between 88W-95W. Widely scattered moderate convection is elsewhere from 14N-20N between 81W-89W.

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:1. Gulf of Mexico - A persistent NE to SW trough is drifting slowly W across the NW Gulf and expected to move inland today over Texas and NE Mexico as high pressure ridging builds in from the NE. Fairly tranquil marine conditions will persist through the week...with winds increasing slightly in the central and W Gulf Fri through Sun as the pressure gradient tightens. An early season cold front will approach the Texas coast late Mon.
2. Caribbean Sea - Upcoming weekend as tropical cyclone Karl moves NW then N across the SW N Atlantic. Easterly swell associated with tropical cyclone Karl will impact the Atlantic waters and Caribbean passages through Fri. Active weather will prevail today across W and SW portions due to an upper level trough.

3a. Tropical Storm Lisa is centered near 19.9N 34.0W at 22/0900 UTC or about 620 nm WNW of the Cape Verde Islands moving NW at 12 kt. Estimated minimum central pressure is 1004 mb. Maximum sustained wind speed is 40 kt with gusts to 50 kt. Scattered moderate and isolated strong convection is from 18N-24N between 27W-34W.
3b. Tropical Depression Karl is centered near 24.0N 60.7W at 22/0900 UTC or 540 about nm SSE of Bermuda moving NW at 14 kt. Estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb. Maximum sustained wind speed is 30 kt with gusts to 40 kt. Scattered moderate convection is from 19N-28N between 57W-65W.

4a. Tropical wave extends from 06N82W to 16N82W moving W at 15 kt. The wave remains within broad 700 mb troughing over the western Caribbean Sea and portions of Central America. 3a. Tropical Storm Lisa is centered near 17.5N 32.2W at 21/0900 UTC or about 480 nm WNW of the Cape Verde Islands moving NW at 8 kt. Estimated minimum central pressure is 1002 mb. Maximum sustained wind speed is 45 kt with gusts to 55 kt. Scattered moderate and isolated strong convection is from 15N-22N between 25W-33W.
3b. Tropical Depression Karl is centered near 20.2N 57.6W at 21/0900 UTC or about 305 nm NE of the Leeward Islands and about 820 nm SSE of Bermuda moving W at 12 kt. Estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb. Maximum sustained wind speed is 30 kt with gusts to 40 kt. Scattered moderate convection is from 18N-25N between 52W-58W. 4...Tropical Waves... Tropical wave extends from 10N76W to 19N77W moving W at 15 kt. The wave remains within broad 700 mb troughing over the western Caribbean Sea and is embedded within an area of maximum low-level moisture as noted in Total Precipitable Water imagery. The wave is expected to remain beneath the influence of an upper level low noted on water vapor imagery centered near 16N75W. Isolated moderate convection is from 16N-20N between 75W-80W. Scattered moderate and isolated strong convection is from 05N-12N between 71W-78W.
