Today, skies will be mostly sunny. Winds will be ESE in direction during the day at 10 to 20 mph. Seas will be rough at 2 to 4 feet or higher. This afternoon and evening, winds will ENE at 15 to 20 mph. Winds and seas will begin to decrease significantly in strength early Tuesday morning.
Divers should exercise caution exiting and entering the boats, especially on the afternoon dives.
A cold front in the Gulf of Mexico is moving SE. This front is forecast to reach the NW Caribbean on Tuesday. It will stall there and dissipate on Wednesday. Expect strong north winds and rain ahead of and behind this frontal system. Cool, high pressure air continues to build in behind this front.
The air temperatures will range from the high 70s (ºF) to the mid 80s (ºF) or 24ºC to 26ºC.
Ocean water temperatures are 80°F to 82°F or 25ºC to 26ºC. Visibility is 20 to 80 ft.
The SAL (Saharan Air Layer) has increased in area and density. See Figs. 9 and 9a below.
