The Tropical Weather Outlook
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
1. A cold front from the mouth of the Mississippi River to 25N92W to Veracruz, Mexico will weaken...and become stationary from the Florida Big Bend to central Gulf of Mexico Tue. A stronger cold front will move into NW Gulf of Mexico late Tue night into Wed morning...reach from southern Louisiana to Veracruz, Mexico Wed night...from the Florida Panhandle to the Bay of Campeche Thu...and from S Florida to the Yucatan Peninsula Fri. Strong high pressure behind the front will increase the potential for NW to N gale force winds S of 22N Thu night while fresh to strong N winds will be present elsewhere in the wake of the front.
2. Fresh to strong trades over the S central Caribbean will diminish through Wed afternoon as Atlantic high pressure shifts eastward and weakens. The trades will then increase beginning Wed night as strong high pressure that builds over the central Atlantic. A strong cold front will push through the Yucatan Channel into the NW Caribbean Fri followed by fresh NE winds and building seas.
3. The SAL has changed very little in area and in density.
