Gabrielle has weaken to a depression in the Atlantic off Canada.
Humberto remains a Cat 1 hurricane in the far eastern tropical Atlantic
The broad area of low pressure, centered about 400 miles east of the Leeward Islands remains
limited. Although surface pressures are low in the area...environmental conditions do not appear to be favorable for further development. Because of unfavorable upper level winds, this disturbance has a low chance...10 percent...of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours and only a...20 percent chance...of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 5 days as it moves toward the west-northwest at about 10 mph.
Interests here should monitor these systems as they continue to develop.
The SAL, has increased slightly in density and area. See Figs. 9 and 9a.
