Skies will be mostly cloudy. Winds will be W to NNE to NE moderate at 5 mph to 15 mph. Seas will be moderate to calm at 1 ft. to 4 ft. There is a very slight chance of rain showers and isolated thunderstorms today. The air temperatures will range from the low 70sºF to the low 80s ºF or 22°C to 24ºC. The Tropical Weather Outlook
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
1. There are no tropical cyclones in the Atlantic at this time. The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1st through November 30th.
2. Gulf of Mexico - High pressure will prevail across the basin through Sat. A thermal trough will bring enhanced nocturnal winds over the E Bay of Campeche, Mexico the next few nights.
3. Caribbean Sea - A stalled frontal boundary from E Cuba to E Honduras will dissipate through tonight. Strong winds in the S central Caribbean will reach gale force tonight near the coast of Colombia...and pulse to near gale other nights during the forecast period. Trade wind induced swell will affect Atlantic zones through the week.
3a. A slowly-moving cold front passes through 31N61W, to 23N70W, across the SE Bahamas near 22N70W, across SE Cuba, to 19N80W in NW corner of the Caribbean Sea, to the north central part of Nicaragua. Rain showers are possible from 14N northward from 80W westward. Middle level-to-upper level cyclonic wind flow covers the Caribbean Sea from a 16N82W cyclonic circulation center, to a SE Hispaniola cyclonic circulation center. Upper level SE wind flow covers the area that is between 60W and Puerto Rico. Comparatively drier air, in subsidence, is apparent in water vapor imagery, across the entire Caribbean Sea. 24-HOUR rainfall amounts in inches, for the period ending at 31/0000 UTC, according to the PAN AMERICAN TEMPERATURE AND PRECIPITATION TABLES, MIATPTPAN/SXCA01 KNHC, 0.02 in Guadeloupe.
