Again today, skies will be mostly
sunny. Seas will be moderate at 1 to 4 feet. Winds will be light and
E to ENE in direction at 5 mph to 15 mph. Expect moderate winds and
seas through Friday afternoon.
This morning, a weak, relatively
stationary cold front extends across the Straits of Florida to the
NE Yucatan Peninsula. It is reinforced by a second, stronger cold
front early on Friday. Currently, it is forecast to enter the NW
Caribbean late on Friday. The merged fronts will reach from eastern
Cuba to the Gulf of Honduras on Saturday. There are strong to near
gale force winds, N to NW of the front. Expect increasing cloudiness
and rain with the passage of these fronts. Expect strong north winds
Friday night through Sunday. (See Fig. 2)
The air temperatures will range from
the mid 70s (ºF) to the low 80s (ºF) or 21ºC to 26ºC.
Ocean water temperatures are 78 to 79ºF
or 25 to 26ºC. Visibility is generally 20 to 80 feet.
