The Tropical Weather Outlook
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:1. Gulf of Mexico - A remnant trough in the central Gulf will gradually dissipate through Tue. A ridge will build across the eastern U.S. into the NW Gulf Tue night through early Wed. Winds and seas will increase over the eastern Gulf Wed through Fri as Hurricane Matthew moves northward across the Bahamas and off or near the east coast of Florida. A new cold front may push into the NW Gulf by the end of the week...moving across the Gulf during the upcoming weekend.
2. Caribbean Sea - Hurricane Matthew near 16.9N 74.6W 934 mb at 11 pm EDT moving N at 6 kt. Maximum sustained winds 125 kt with gusts to 150 kt. The center of Matthew will move to 18.3N 74.4W Tue morning...to 20.0N 74.4W Tue evening...to 21.8N 75.2W Wed morning...then near 23.4N 76.2W near the SE and central Bahamas Wed evening. Matthew will continue NW or N across the central and NW Bahamas as a hurricane through the end of the week crossing N of 30N late Fri. Much more tranquil conditions will prevail across the Caribbean Sea by the end of the week as Matthew exits the area. All interests in the Bay Islands and on the North Coast of Honduras should monitor this system closely as it tracks north and east of us. Currently this system does not pose a threat to the Bay Islands and north coast of Honduras.

Scattered moderate to isolated strong convection is from 20N-25N between 55W-60W.
