Today, skies will be mostly sunny. Seas will be choppy at 2 to 4 feet. Winds will be mostly easterly in direction, this morning, at 10 mph to 12 mph; increasing this afternoon to 15 mph to 20 mph.

The air temperatures will range from the low 80s (ºF) to the low 90s (ºF) or 25ºC to 32ºC.

Ocean water temperatures are 81°F to 82ºF or 26ºC to 27ºC. Visibility is generally 20 to 80 feet.

The Tropical Weather Outlook

Invest 95L has intensified and now is tropical storm Chantal. Early this morning, it was about 2,500 miles E by S from Roatan. Its traveling W at 26 mph, with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph. It is forecast to intensify as it travels W-NW towards the Caribbean. Currently it does not pose a threat to the Bay Islands and north coast of Honduras.

A tropical wave is moving across the central Caribbean today. It will reach the western Caribbean later today and tomorrow and then exit W of area on Wednesday.

The Saharan Air Layer (SAL) has decreased slightly in area during the last 24 hours.

Else where, tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 48 hours.
