The Tropical Weather Outlook
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
1. There are no tropical cyclones in the Atlantic at this time. The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1st through November 30th.
2. Gulf of Mexico - Narrow high pres ridge extends E to W along 24N-25N this morning and will weaken this afternoon as a strong cold moves into the NW waters early tonight and moves quickly SE... reaching extreme S Florida to upper Mexico by Thu evening. The front will exit the SE Gulf on Fri while W portion drifts N into SE Texas. SE return flow will develop across the entire Gulf Sat evening through S
3. Caribbean Sea - Strong to near gale force trades will continue over the S central Caribbean through Sun night with winds along the Colombian coast increasing to minimal gale force tonight through Sun night. A cold front will move SE into the NW Caribbean early Fri...then stall from E Cuba to NE Yucatan late Sat and Sun.
3a. Strong east to northeast winds in the south-central Caribbean near the coast of Colombia will pulse gale-force by early Thursday, with max seas building to 12-13 feet, from 11N to 13N between 74W and 76W. These conditions will diminish by Thursday afternoon.
