The Tropical Weather Outlook
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:1. High pressure over NW Gulf of Mexico waters will slowly shift eastward through Mon allowing for southerly return flow to develop across the western Gulf by Sat night and intensify early next week as low pressure deepens over the southern plains.
2. A slow moving cold front from E Cuba to NE Honduras will become nearly stationary and weaken from Haiti to Nicaragua Sat through Sun. High pressure behind behind the front will induce fresh NE flow S of Cuba and through the Windward Passage Sun through Mon night. Moderate to fresh E to SE trades will prevail elsewhere across the E Caribbean and tropical Atlantic through Sun.
3. METEORS FROM HALLEY'S COMET: Earth is entering a stream of debris from Halley's Comet, source of the annual eta Aquariid meteor shower. Forecasters expect the shower to peak on the nights around May 5th and 6th with 30+ meteors per hour. The best time to look, no matter where you live, is probably during the dark hours before sunrise on Friday.
