Today,
skies will be mostly sunny. Winds will be ESE in direction at 10 mph
to 15 mph this morning. Increasing to 20 mph to 25 mph this afternoon
and evening. Seas will be rough at 2 to 4 feet or higher. Divers
should exercise caution exiting and entering the boats, especially on
the afternoon dives. There is a slight chance of scattered
rain showers and isolated thunderstorms as cool air continues to
drift in from the north. This morning, the cold front in the Gulf of
Mexico extends from SE Louisiana to near Tampico, Mexico. It is
forecast to move SE through today, before drifting off NW. Another
cold front is now forecast to enter the Gulf of Mexico on Wednesday.
The air temperatures will range from the low 70s (ºF) to the low
80s (ºF) or 24ºC to 26ºC.Ocean water temperatures are 77°F to 79°F or 23ºC to 24ºC. Visibility is 20 to 80 ft or less.
The SAL (Saharan Air Layer) has changed in area and in density. See Figs. 9 and 9a below.
