The Tropical Weather Outlook
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:1. Caribbean Sea - Hurricane Earl near 17.3N 88.9W...inland in Belize...982 mb at 05 am edt moving W or 275 deg at 13 kt with maximum sustained winds 65 kt with gusts to 80 kt. Earl is forecast to be inland across Honduras and Belize...inland...near 18.3N 92.7W with maximum winds 30 kt gusts to 40 kt at 05/0600 UTC...near 19.0N 96.1W with maximum winds 30 kt gusts to 40 kt at 06/0600 UTC...and near 19.5N 99.5W with maximum winds 20 kt gusts to 30 kt at 07/0600 utc. A tropical wave will move W reaching 59W tonight...pass across the Lesser Antilles on Thu night...move through the E Caribbean on Fri and Fri night...through the central Caribbean on Sat and Sat night and through the W Caribbean on Sun and Mon.
All interests in the Bay Islands and on the North Coast of Honduras should monitor this system closely as it tracks westward toward us. Currently this system does not pose a threat to the Bay Islands and north coast of Honduras. But all interests here should monitor this system as it moves west towards us.
