The Tropical Weather Outlook
For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:1. A weak cold front will move off the Texas coast Sun afternoon...then move across the northern Gulf of Mexico through Mon night while weakening. The pressure gradient will strengthen between ridging NE of the area and troughing over the southern plains Tue through Wed night. A cold front will move into the NW waters late Thu.
2. A tight pressure gradient between an Atlantic ridge and low pressure over Colombia will maintain strong trades across the central Caribbean and portions of the Gulf of Honduras and Mona Passage through the weekend...except within 90 NM of the NW coast of Colombia where gale force winds will occur again tonight. Gentle to moderate trades will prevail elsewhere through Sun night. Trades across the area will diminish Mon through Wed as the pressure gradient weakens and begin to return Wed night into Thu.
