Today, skies will be mostly sunny. Seas
will be choppy at 2 to 4 feet. Winds will be ENE in direction at 15
to 20 mph or higher. Divers should exercise caution exiting
and entering the boats, especially on the afternoon dives.
This morning, a cold front extends from
the Yucatan Peninsula across eastern Cuba and the Florida Straits out
into the Atlantic Ocean. It is moving slowly SE. There are strong NW
winds behind this front. There is an increased chance of rain as this
front passes over us later today or tomorrow. Another cold front will
move into the far western Gulf of Mexico by Monday night. This front
will then reach from the Florida Panhandle to the western Bay of
Campeche, Mexico by Tuesday. A weak low may form along the frontal
boundary in the western Gulf of Mexico by Wednesday and track NE.The air temperatures will range from
the low 70s (ºF) to the low 80s (ºF) or 21ºC to 26ºC.
Ocean water temperatures are 79 to 80ºF
or 26 to 27ºC. Visibility is generally 20 to 80 feet.
