How to use this page:
The title of each of the figures below is linked to the page where the information originates.
Since I write and post early in the day and generally do not update the page until the next morning; by clicking on the link, it allows you, the viewer, to get the latest information.
This is not only convenient but allows you to track weather events such as cold fronts and hurricanes from a single web page.
In addition, in the right column are two very useful widgets. The first is a tropical weather tracker which shows you the location and forecast track of active tropical storm systems.
The second is a trip planner...yesteryear's weather at a glance. This widget lets you check historic weather for your trip dates.
Again today, skies will be cloudy. Seas will be choppy at 2 to 4 feet. Winds will be E to ESE in direction during the day at 15 mph to 20 mph; increasing to 25 mph from the ENE to E this afternoon and evening.
Expect these trade winds and seas to gradually increase in strength through this weekend.
There is a very slight chance of late night, early morning, intermittent rain showers.
Divers should exercise caution exiting and entering the boats, especially on the afternoon dives.
The air temperatures will range from the high 70s (ºF) to the high 80s (ºF) or 25ºC to 31ºC.
Ocean water temperatures are 79 to 82ºF or 26 to 27ºC. Visibility is generally 20 to 80 feet.
The Tropical Weather Outlook
The hurricane season for the tropical Atlantic officially starts on June 1st.
There are two low pressure systems in the eastern Pacific (see Fig 10 below).
1. Shower and thunderstorm activity continues to gradually increase in association with a nearly stationary area of low pressure located about 200 miles south of Salina Cruz Mexico. This system has the potential to become a tropical depression later today...and has a high chance...90 percent...of becoming a tropical cyclone before it reaches the coast of Mexico in a day or two. Interests along the southeastern Pacific coast of Mexico should closely monitor the progress of this system...as tropical storm warnings could be required with less than the normal amount of lead time. regardless of development...heavy rains are likely over parts of southern Mexico and western Central America during the next few days. These rains could produce life-threatening flash floods and mud slides.
2. An area of low pressure located about 850 miles south of the southern tip of the Baja California pennisula is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Any development of this system should be slow to occur...and it has a low chance...10 percent...of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours.
Elsewhere...tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 48 hours.
