For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:1. A cold front will move into NW Gulf of Mexico waters Mon night...stretch from Destin, Florida to Tampico, Mexico Tue night and weaken from central Florida to Tampico Wed night. Strong winds will develop along the NW coast of the Yucatan Peninsula during the late afternoon and evening hours through Sun evening.
2. Weak high pressure continues from central Atlantic extending SW to near the NW Bahamas. Moderate to fresh SE trades across the E Caribbean are expected to increase to strong this afternoon through Sun night across the waters N of NW Venezuela. Moderate to fresh trades are expected N of Honduras to 18N through Tue...except increasing to strong each night through Sun night.

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:1. A weak ridge extending across the N Gulf of Mexico will continue through the weekend. SE winds will increase to a fresh to strong breeze today through Sat as an area of low pressure develops across the southern U.S. plains. The associated weak cold front will extend from the Florida Panhandle to Galveston Bay Mon morning and quickly become diffuse early Mon night.
2. Weak high pressure across the central Atlantic is supporting moderate to fresh trade winds and small to moderate seas across much of the Caribbean. E-SE winds N of Honduras will pulse to a fresh to strong breeze during the overnight hours through early Mon. A moderate to fresh breeze will persist S of 15N E of 72W through Sat night...briefly becoming fresh to strong Sun N of Venezuela and shifting E to waters E of 68W Mon through Tue night.

2. Moderate to fresh trade winds to persist across the Caribbean through Thu night as low pressure prevails over the central Atlantic and high pressure remains centered over the SE United States and W Atlantic. NE winds are expected to pulse to fresh to strong each night through Thu night S of Hispaniola and in the Windward Passage and approaches. High pressure will shift E through Bermuda Fri and become centered NE of the area Sat and Sun...diminishing trade winds across much of the Caribbean.

The high will move E over the Atlantic with diminishing winds late week as a weak cold front enters the NW Gulf. A trough will develop over the Yucatan Peninsula each afternoon and weaken as it moves WNW over water each night. Periods of convection over the W Gulf will shift to the N Gulf mid week before shifting to the NE Gulf late this week.
2. Caribbean - Moderate to fresh trade winds will persist across the basin through Thu night as broad low pressure prevails over the western Atlantic and high pressure is centered over the SE USA. NE winds are expected to pulse to fresh to strong each night S of Hispaniola...and the approach to the Windward Passage through Thu night.

A weak cold front from the middle to upper Florida Keys to the central Gulf of Mexico near 26N88W will drift slowly S and gradually dissipate through Sun...with remnants reaching from Straits of Florida by Sun evening. High pressure building across the basin N of front will maintain fresh to strong winds N of front through Sun then spread across entire basin Sun night through Mon before gradually diminishing Mon night. A trough will develop over the Yucatan Peninsula each afternoon and weaken as it moves W-NW over water each night.
2. Expect moderate to locally fresh tradewinds across the Caribbean through Wed night as broad low pressure dominates the western Atlantic. Fresh winds off the coast of Colombia will pulse to strong overnight again Sun night. A fresh breeze across the Gulf of Honduras will become fresh to locally strong again Sun night. Pulsing winds to fresh to strong will also be possible S of Hispaniola Tue night through the forecast period. Moderate N swell will move into the tropical N Atlantic waters and through NE Caribbean passages Mon through Wed.
