About Me

My photo
Doc
Doc Radawski first came to Roatan in 1970, purportedly for 3 months. There he joined Oceanograficos de Honduras, (ODH), as scientist-diver. Later becoming the Expedition’s Technical Director. ODH had a contract with the Honduran Institute of Anthropology and History to locate and archaeologically excavate shipwrecks in the Bay Islands and on the north coast of Honduras. The 3 months, has stretched into 40 years, allowing him to pursue and live most of his dreams. When the archaeological work ended in 1976, Doc started the first independent dive shop on Roatan. Originally established as a guided diving operation, it ultimately became a dive equipment and compressor repair facility, serving the commercial lobster diving fleet. In 1982, he helped setup, then managed the dive operation at CoCoView Resort. CoCoView and its dive operation have become a standard in the dive resort industry. He left CoCoView in mid-1991 to pursue work in the fields of coral reef ecology. Since 2007, he can be found at CoCoView Resort, where he entertains guests with tall tales of treasure, stormy weather, and factors relating to the role of man’s fine hand in paradise lost.
